Royal Malaysian Police: Patrol Vessel
Designed to be a multi-purpose enforcement craft for the Royal Malaysian Marine Police, this vessel was required to undertake high-speed interception and boarding of suspect crafts, escort duties, and search and rescue operations. The 20.7 metre aluminium patrol vessel built on the Singapore Police Command boats enviable reputation of being able to operate at high speeds with adequate stability and a stable, predictable ride.
Lauched in 2001 by Strategic Marine, she exceeded the expectations of her 4 crew. A top speed of 45 knots was achieved thanks to twin V16 MTU powerplants pumping out a combined 3,600 horsepower. Driven by two Doen waterjets helped her maintain a low draft and sleek underwater profile, aiding her exceptional performance characteristics.
