Royal Australian Navy Vessels – Dive Support Vessel

Three dive support vessels were built by Geraldton Boat Builders for the Royal Australian Navy: Shark, Seal & Porpoise. Designed to operate as specialist vessels, they each carried equipment such as a recompression chamber, stern A-frame, RHIB ramp for its daughter craft, dive platform, and hauling winch. Each vessel could attain a top speed of 26 knots and cruise speed of 20 knots due to their powerful MTU marine diesels. All three of these vessels were decommissioned in 1998 and have gone on to serve various purposes outside of the Navy.
